Production is underway on the latest feature film from Melbourne film & TV studio Lilydale Films.
The Exchange is a YA romance filming in Auckland, New Zealand and stars Lucy Wyma (Shortland Street), Celine Dam (The Eggplant) and newcomer Mirene Castelltort. The feature film tells a moving, coming of age story of first love and heartbreak. Rob McLaughlin (Surfing the Menu) is directing.
In The Exchange, Mirene Castelltort plays Annie, a Mexican exchange student who travels to picturesque Auckland, New Zealand to participate in a high school exchange program. When Annie starts developing feelings for her host’s girlfriend, Esther, she is forced to choose between her studies and true love.
Producer Melanie Rowland comments “After a busy 2020 spent developing projects, it’s wonderful to be back in production on our latest feature film. I’m excited to be shooting The Exchange in Auckland – the city has both beautiful beaches and vibrant cityscapes. We’ve assembled a talented cast and crew to bring this heart-warming story to life.”
The Exchange brings together a talented supporting cast including Stephen Lovatt (Neighbours), Xavier Garneau-Roughan (Power Rangers Dino Fury) and newcomer Philippa Gouws.
The Exchange is produced by Melanie Rowland and Ric Forster, with Sarah Dawes Associate Producing.
